Skirts Up!
Working on the front nose hinge and rear hinge setup for the Carbon40R GT40 build.
These are still very much a work in progress, but this is exactly the kind of part of the build that takes a lot more thought than people realize. The goal is to get the movement right, the clearances right, and the mounting points right so the nose and rear clip open the way they should without fighting the body lines or the chassis.
Right now itβs a matter of refining geometry, testing placement, and making sure everything will function smoothly once finalized. A lot of custom car building is like this β design it, mock it up, adjust it, and keep improving it until it works the way it should.
The body shape gets most of the attention, but details like hinge design are a huge part of making the whole car actually function.
